here really are some appropriate and effective remarks to use in response to a coach’s comments. When they ask questions, here are some very effective "winning lines."

“What did YOU see on that play, Coach?”

Sometimes it’s best to answer a question with a question. Put the ball, so to speak, back in the coach’s court. Give him a chance to explain things briefly. Do it respectfully, but with confidence. Don’t be cocky.
