While most of us say that we do it for the love of the game or other non-financial reasons, there is no doubt that getting paid is important. However, amateur officials who call games mainly for the dough are ones who give officiating a bad name.
Spotting those who work games only for the money!
It’s easy to identify an official who is interested only in getting paid, and could care less about working a good game. These so-called officials never attend any officiating clinics and spend very little time reading the rule book (yet, they claim to be experts!). They are also the ones that blame politics for not working the big games.
