ome may agree that the proposed rule additional applies pretty well when applied to the dribbler. The question is then, "Can this rule change apply when a player turns to shoot?" Yes, it can, and lets look as the final suggestion for this rule change: replace the words "player control" (PC) with "offensive" in the rule book.

Here are a few examples. In Figure 1 White A1 below ) received a pass near the lane, faked a shot while on the floor, and Blue B1 jumped vertically. A1 then started a poor effort to dribble/pivot to get off a shot and moved under B1. Clearly that is an invasion of B1's vertical space and should be an offensive foul.
