The next day, Ville Neimenen of the Calgary Flames was suspended for his hit on Vincent Lecavalier in the Stanley Cup Finals. Darryl Sittler decided that not only the suspension but all the calls in the series were the product of a league conspiracy to keep him and his Calgary Flames away from Lord Stanley's mug.
