ot coincidentally, Part III begins my journey through the third part of my plan to learn from a bad jump ball. So far I’ve talked about (1) pregaming the jump ball with my partner and (2) maintaining focus, especially during the jump ball. Today I tackle the jump ball rules.
If you’re playing along at home, you will find the relevant rule references in NFHS 1-3, 4-28, 6-1, 6-2-1, 6-3, 6-4-Note, 7-3-2 and 9-6. Add cases 6.1.1, 6.1.2.A, 6.3.2, 6.3.7 and 6.4.1.C, and you’ll have everything you need to know to master the rules on the jump ball.
