s I begin writing this, I'm half watching an NCAA game on ESPN. The commentators have just made a true statement: "This is a very well-officiated game. When you hardly notice the officials, the game is being officiated well. They are letting them play." That statement pulled my attention from the task at hand. I just turned off the television (a commercial break) after realizing I cannot concentrate and watch the game at the same time.

If this distraction had come during a dead ball period in a basketball game, I could find myself in serious trouble. I have been there, and I have done that! I'm sure we all have. What's going on? Who is the free-throw shooter? Where is the ball to be put in play? Uh-oh! What's going on?
