In Part I, I dispensed some amazingly practical advice regarding working single-whistle mechanics: Stay out of the girls' locker room. Without a partner, you've got nobody to watch your back!

I also wrote about your first move — talking. You need to talk to the coaches, and you need to talk to the table. Hopefully, you've already talked to your assignor, but there may not be anything he can do to help.

Now, let's talk about some practical advice to get through this game.

I'm going to break the game into several parts and discuss how to referee each part. I'll be talking about the jump ball, free throws, half-court set, transition, and throw-ins.
