n the preceding example, I learned that my partner wasn't sure who the shooter was. Number 22 came to the line. The home team now called a time out, and my partner approached me to ask if the correct shooter was on the line.
It was late in the game, in the first and — thankfully — the last overtime period. I wasn't feeling very well, the onset of a nasty episode of bronchitis. No excuses given, though, nor should you accept one: We both blew it.
No one else noticed, and as it turned out, I'm fairly sure the right shooter came to the line. If the wrong kid put up those foul shots, the only ones who knew were the "deceiving" team. You may be reading this and putting the blame on my partner. After all, he was the one who called the foul. He should have picked up the shooter.
If you are thinking along those lines, I don't want to work with you.
