The key to becoming a good basketball official is obtaining proper angles. Getting the proper angle, where one can see between the players, provides officials with the necessary vision to "see the call."

Here's what an official observed because he took the proper angle and distance to improve the direction and width of his field of vision.

One cannot obtain a proper angle without moving. The official who hustles to his PCA and then refuses to move will never become a good official. He will undoubtedly miss calls and be of little or no use to his partner.
