My wife and I arrived at the Bal Harbour Hotel in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey, around 2:00 p.m. Registration was quick and uncomplicated.

We proceeded upstairs to our sixth floor room, which overlooked the ocean. The view was fantastic. The only problem was the weather.

John Koskinen (photo below), our clinic director, reminded everyone that there is an old Seashore saying,: "A bad day at the beach is better than a good day at home." That remained to be seen!

I went back downstairs to the hotel lobby and signed in for the clinic. Each official was presented with a vinyl black and white striped bag. In the bag were various items including a lanyard, Fox 40 whistle, two writing pads, a calendar book, instructional materials, and a gift for your spouse  or guest, as the case might be.
