Paperwork, in the context of the current series, deals simply with communication. Never leave one place, the spot of a foul, headed for another place, the table, unless you've filled out the paperwork.

I learned that from a clinician whom I saw work a small-college game. He was one of those rare officials who did on the floor exactly what he preached in the classroom.
