No, it's not breakfast. It's the sound of a breaking wrist. But we'll get to that in a moment.

Half done is well begun

First, let's take a minute to honor the passing of the midpoint of the footnball season. 'Nuff said!

I have received plenty of positive feedback about this series. It has been very gratifying. Thank you to everyone who has had a kind word or two to say.

A long series is a lot of work. You must really want to do it. Kent Holm has done several. Darin Hayes has a great one going called "Disputed Calls." I don't even watch football, and I look forward to each new installment. Such as the one today.

But then, football referees are a breed apart. They're natural born communicators. We actually give them a microphone and let them explain their calls.
