Juulie: I got this response from Ray Cox about my articles on boys’ and girls’ games. I’ve re-cast his letter and my replies into a sort of conversation.
Ray: Well done. Many of your observations I have noticed, but never really categorized as being typically the boys' game v. the girls' game. I hadn't considered the girls' game to be more mentally draining, but then maybe I'm not doing it right. (grin) The girls' game is definitely more improvised or free-form and less predictable. Your observations on game management are an eye-opener. The direct praise v. indirect is something I'll have to think about. However, I think that emotional v. temperamental is actually pretty accurate, and that you're just being emotional about it. (grin)
